Use Cases
The User Groups feature allows you to setup, manage and control access and permissions for groups of users within a single DMP instance.
- Internal: Create user groups to handle the permissions/rights of DMP usage within your own organisation. This way you can make sure that only people from your 'operational' team can create new Pixels or Audiences while people from your 'analytics' team can only run reports on a (restricted) set of data.
- External: Create user groups with restricted access to certain items, data and/or features. This way you can provide external parties with a DMP login and make sure they only see a subset of relevant items and cannot perform certain actions like deleting a Pixel or Audience. Please note that it is also possible to white-label the DMP to make this even more powerful.
Overview
Within the User Groups feature you will see an overview of all your created User Groups. In order to create a new one, click on the 'Create User Group' button on the upper right side of the screen. You can give each group a name and a certain description.
Actions
Each group has three possible actions. All actions are described below.
Name | Icon | Purpose |
---|---|---|
Edit | This button redirects you to the User Group edit page. | |
Permissions | This button redirects you to the permissions overview of that particular group. | |
Delete | This button removes the User Group from the interface. |
Permissions
The permissions overview shows the restricted items that can be accessed by a given User Group. Items can be added to list list in two ways.
- Automatically by the system once a user who is part of the User Group will create new Pixels or Audiences.
- Manually by an admin user to retroactively add items to the permission controller of a given User Group.
The latter can be done by clicking on the 'Permissions' button as mentioned in the 'Actions' table. Here you can add a certain item and define the permission scope.
